The oil filter on Your 2008 Toyota Highlander requires A64mm oil filter wrench that has 14 flats/flutes. The most common tool used is part number TOY640 which can be found online for around $25.00. This specific part requires a 24mm socket and ratchet to drive it. You will also need a ¼ drive 10mm socket and ratchet as well as a 14mm socket or wrench. Beyond that You only need the standard oil change tools like a funnel, oil catch pan and of course the replacement oil and filter. To access the oil filter You will need to remove the two 10mm bolts that hold on the small plastic panel that is on the passenger side of the vehicle underbody. After that it is just like a standard oil change with the drain plug requiring the 14mm socket/wrench.
