The 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer uses Dexron IIiAutomatic transmission fluid. Transmission fluid can be a bit pricey but fortunately You don't need to do it very often. The manual recommends that You check and replace the transmission fluid and filter every 50,000 miles or so if You do much of Your driving in heavy city traffic in temperatures of 90 degrees fahrenheit, in mountainous or hilly terrain, or use Your vehicle for frequent trailer towing. If these things don't apply then You're safe waiting to change Your fluid every 100,000 miles. Along with changing Your engine oil this is one of the most important bits of vehicle maintenance that You'll need to do. -
