The Chevy Cruze uses Dexron ViAutomatic transmission fluid. Never mix different types of transmission fluid in Your vehicle because it can lead to damage to the gars inside. Chevy recommends that You change Your transmission fluid every 30,000 to 60,000 miles depending on the condition. You should always inspect Your fluid every time that You change Your oil. Low fluid is usually a sign of a leak in the transmission. Fluid that has a metallic sparkle or is reflective can be a sign that there is metal in it and that can damage the gears. If You have had a transmission fluid change by a third party shop then You should contact them to verify the fluid You have before adding more.
