The check engine light illuminates in the 2017 Chevy Traverse to let You know a problem has been detected with the emissions system, engine, or transmission. In many cases, it's something as simple as a loose gas cap, but it can also be something much more severe. It's also important to note that a blinking light is worse than a solid light. A blinking one means You should stop the vehicle immediately. Onboard computers monitor ignition timing, engine speed, transmission shifty, stability control, etc. You might need to replace the battery, oxygen sensor, or mass airflow sensor. The Traverse could have a vacuum leak or at least one failed spark plug or spark plug wire. In more serious cases, the catalytic converter could be going bad and in rarer cases, an aftermarket alarm can trigger the light, as well.

Common reasons for a check engine light on a 2017 Chevy traverse are faulty head gasket, damaged oxygen sensor, faulty emissions control part, d***y mass airflow sensor, a malfunction with the fuel injection system, or defective spark plugs to name a few.
