Some of the reasons why the check engine light might come on in the 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid could be for numerous reasons. It could be because of a loose or bad gas cap, bad spark plugs, bad head gasket, bad oxygen sensor, a problem with the emissions control, a problem with the mass airflow sensor or a problem with the fuel injection system to name a few. Some of these are simple fixes and don't cost much to fixAnd some of these are complicated fixed and are pretty pricey to fix. For example if it is a problem with the gas cap, it just might not be on right and You just need to secure it better. If it is a problem with the spark plugs, new ones are around $5 to $20 or so.
I am having the same issue, sometime the check engine light comes on when then engine is on, I lose traction and the engine start shaking, when it switch to electric it goes away. At the dealership they tried to read the code but they keep on tell me there nothing reported. I bought my own ODBII and I see the misfire code cylinder 4. Did you get your issue fixed
Latif this is very helpful since I have the same issue and the dealership cannot find the problem. I got the same response from the dealership and ultimately filed a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at https://www.nhtsa.gov/about-nhtsa/contact-us. Please consider filing a complaint, since they compile this information and can deal with it at a higher level with more information. Thank you.

The 2017 hyundai sonata hybrid check engine light usually is caused by a loose gas cap or sensor fault.
