There are hundreds of different diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that could result in a check engine light (CEL) condition on Your 2017 Jeep Wrangler. I can give You some general ideas here, but You're going to need to grab that code or provide some of the symptoms for me to be able to help more with this. Briefly, the CEL comes on when the on-board diagnostic system (typically OBD-II) finds an issue with the engine, transmission or evaporative system. Typical things You may encounter in tandem with the CEL illuminating is that it... Stays on. Which is pretty anxiety inducing, on its own. But, it's usually accompanied by an engine that runs rough, or mIS Fires, or lacks power, or has a poor throttle response, overheats, smokes (not behind the building out of respect, but right out of its exhaust) and makes a lot of noise. Now, like most vehicles, the common cause of a CEL is often due to mundane things like a sensor failing. However, it could be indicative of a more serious issue: You really need to pull the code. Usually You can swing by AutoZone and they'll read it for You without charging.

If your "check engine light" makes an appearance in your 2017 jeep wrangler t may indicate a loose gas cap or a more serious issue like a failed o2 sensor, a larger emissions leak or problems with your vehicle's catalytic converter.
