As the owner of a Volkswagen vehicle, You will experience a wide array of lights and codes illuminating on the dashboard over the years. Usually, these lights and codes simply indicate it is time for a routine fluid, oil, or filter change. In the case of code 00022, however, it means that there is a problem detected in the crankshaft position sensor, located above the starter in the engine bay. If the sensor has gone bad, it will need to be replaced. You will need to pay between $15 and $75 for a new sensor. If You have it replaced by a mechanic or automotive service technician, You will need to pay an additional $50 to $184 for labor.

Code 00022 in a VW means there is a crankshaft position sensor problem.
I keep seeing the 00022 code is camshaft position sensor. So is it camshaft or crankshaft? I just replaced my camshaft magnet, the solenoid and wiring pigtail. Code 00022 is still there even after clearing.
