The 2000 Honda Accord's transmission control module is also the powertrain control module, and that is located below the dashboard, under the front lower panel behind the center console. Signs that the TCM/PCM may be starting to fail include stalling between gear changes or failure to change gears at all, the tranny not downshifting when You're stopped, or even getting stuck in neutral. On automatic versions, it doesn't upshift when You accelerate. You can't reset the TCM by disconnecting the battery, like You can to sort ECU issues. Instead, You'll need to purchase a specific transmission scan tool, or bring it into the dealership to address. Sometimes, software issues with the PCM can be remedied by an upgrade to the module via reprogRamming.
