The 2001 BMW 530i engine oil type recommended by the manufacturer iS5w-30 synthetic oil. The average cost for the oil is $6 - $10 per quart depending on the brand and the BMW manufacturer recommends that You use Pentosin or the OEM BMW oil brands. If You are going to add oil to Your car make sure You check the oil levels first because too much oil can cause it to overflow and burn the oil on the engine surface. To check the oil levels You will turn on Your car and switch over to the oil indicator on the tact screen. If You need to add oil You will first open the hood and looking at Your engine. The oil cap will be right on the top of Your engine and is labeled with a "Oil" sign. Open that and pour the amount of oil You need into the engine.
