For the 2001 Mazda MPV it is recommended that You use SAE 5W-20 engine oil and You will need about 5.5 quarts if You're changing the oil as well as the filter. 5W-20 will give You good year round results and help Your engine to start up quicker than a thicker oil would in colder temperatures. Changing Your oil at the correct intervals is an important part of keeping Your vehicle running well for as long as possible. Try to stick with changes every 5,000 miles if You're planning on using a conventional oil and every 7,500 miles if You go with a synthetic option. You can use either but synthetic is typically the preferred option. -
