The recommended power steering fluid for Your 2002 Ford F-150 is Mercon power steering fluid. You can also use Prestone power steering fluid. Both of these are recommended, with great performance. If You ever have a power steering fluid leak, You will see a puddle of liquid on the ground under Your car. If the fluid level gets too low, the car will get harder to steer, especially at low speeds. The power steering pump may also start making a screeching noise when You turn the steering wheel. In such a case You should immediately head over to the workshop and get Your leak fixed, and fill up the steering fluid up to the required level.
