The 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse 3.0 liter has a camshaft position sensor that can be found at the front of the vehicle undercarriage. It is relatively easy to locate. First, You will need to open the hood, and support it with the prop arm found at the left side of the engine bay. Next, look to the back portion of the cylinder head. This will be beside the engine block. Inside the lift valley, You will find the sensor. The benefit of this sensor is that it detects the position of the camshaft for You. If it goes bad, it will need to be replaced. You can expect to pay between $30 and $138 for a new part.
