The 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 transmission control module is located in an E-Box in the plenum chamber attached to the firewall on the passenger side of the engine bay. Some of the common signs of a faulty TCM are stalling between gear shifts, failure to change between gears, not shifting into at proper RPMs, and getting stuck in neutral. Some of the OBD codes that would correspond with a bad TCM are P0613, P0700, P0706. These problems can be due to other issues as well but if You have any problems and have kept up on transmission maintenance You can do some diagnosis to pinpoint the problem. The cost of a replacement TCM will vary from $150 - $300 depending on if its an aftermarket or OEM part.
