The 2004 Honda Accord ECT sensor can be found on the coolant pipe that is beneath the air intake pipe below the cylinder head. This sensor is there to measure the engine coolant temperature as it exits from the engine and heads back to the radiator to be cooled down. Usually when this sensor is having a problem You will get a check engine light on the dash because the sensor will lose communication with the ECU. You could also notice that Your temperature gauge shows either nothing or maximum heat depending on what is damaged. You should replace this sensor if it is acting up because it helps You monitor Your engine to make sure it does not overheat.
