The 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe has an alarm system control module that can be found easily, inside the engine compartment. The first thing You will need to do is open the hood at the front of Your vehicle. Look for the long, black fuse boxAt the front of the engine bay. Behind it, You will find the control module, cozied up to the hood release switch. If the module is faulty, it will need to be replaced. Symptoms include random sounding of the alarm, refusal of the remote wireless key fob when attempting to access parts of the car, and the alarm going off every time You try to turn the key inside a physical lock.

Alarm/security module is located under the dash behind fuse box, not in the engine compartment. Generally the module either works or does not work, very rare to have an intermittent problem UNLESS you have voltage problems resulting from a defective battery or charging system.
