The 2004 Kia Optima 2.4 ignition failure sensor is located under the engine's plastic cover on the upper right side of the motor. If this sensor is not working then You will notice several very obvious problems. The most common is that the car will not start. You may also notice stalling and rattling when idle. The instrument cluster may also flicker or fail to display. The sensor will cost You about 150 to replace, and that much again if You have someone put it in for You. That said it can't be ignored because obviously, You can't use a car that will not start.
