The 2005 Acura TL uses a standard thread on metal oil filter. The part number from STP is an STP extended life filter model s6607xl. I recommend that You change Your filter every time that You change Your oil to keep it working best. There are some places that will only change the oil and leave the old filter connected to the bottom of the engine. When You don't change Your filter You are just letting Your new oil run through a d***y filter medium where it could pick up contaminants and bring them into Your engine and this can cause scoring and damage to the moving components inside.
