As the owner of a 2005 BMW X5, You will need to have Your oil changed regularly. According to the manufacturer, this should be performed every 10,000 miles, or every 12 months, whichever comes first. Locating the dipstick for checking Your oil is easy to do, and will only take a couple of minutes. First, go to the front of Your vehicle, and prop open the hood securely, using the prop arm on the side of the engine bay. Next, look on the driver's side, to Your right. The reservoir and oil dipstick will be present toward the rear of the engine block. You will need to remove the dipstick to check Your oil levels.
