The idle air control valve in the 2005 Chevy Impala is located on the left side of the throttle body. The IAC valve is used to control Your engines idle speed and prevent it from stalling. The symptoms of a bad IAC valve include stalling of a car, incorrect idle speed or the check engine light might come on . In some cases where the IAC valve is completely toasted, the car won't start. If You ever face any of the above stated issues then it is time to get Your IAC valve changed. It will cost You about $150 to $500, but the cost may vary depending upon where You get Your parts from.
