Fault code P0198 is a common one on Hyundai Elantra cars, and the 2005 model year is no exception. The error usually indicates that the oil temperature sensor is not working as intended. Whether You're looking for the location of the component because of this or another reason, I've hopefully got You covered. On most vehicles, You'll be looking within the engine compartment on either the engine block or in the cylinder head. On the '05 Elantra in particular, You'll find it near the ignition coil, inline with a wiring harness. It's very accessible, and replacements can be found quite inexpensively; the overall cost of a swap should come in under $50 if You do it Yourself, or closer to $125 if You take it to a mechanic.

The coolant temperature sensor on the 2005 hyundai elantra is located in the coolant pipe, below the air intake pipe and behind the right cylinder head.
