The 2005 Hyundai Elantra comes with 5 X114.3mm lugs on the vehicle. This means that You have 5 lug nuts and they are eacH114.3mm apart from each other. When You are shopping for new wheels I recommend that You get ones that have this lug pattern. There are adapter plates on the market but those can cause excessive stress and strain on the wheel hubs or the wheels themselves. Usually a reputable tire or wheel shop should be able to show You wheels that fit on Your vehicle. In general You do not want to go more than 2 inches larger than stock because You can wind up with rubbing issues while turning or going over bumps.
