The 2005 Kia Sportage fuel filter is located inside the fuel pump module and is listed by the manufacturer as a non-serviceable part. In essence, this means that the fuel filter can last for the life of the vehicle and that there is no need to repair it. The only time the part is replaced is when the fuel pump module to which the fuel filter is linked is replaced. If You have issues with Your fuel filter or fuel pump, some of the symptoms would be trouble starting the engine, accelerating pause, excessive idling and sputtering, and poor fuel economy engine mIS Fires. You will have to remove the gas tank to get access to the fuel pump and fuel filter, which will enable You to remove the back seat in order to be able to remove the fuel pump module.
Under left side rear seat, screw removal, disconnect 2 fuel lines and electrics, now sometimes it can be a real bugger pulling pump up out of tank. New pump $80 on amazon, surprise!!!!
