A 2005 Mazda3 equipped with a 2.3L 4Cylinder engine will need to run on full synthetic 5W-20 motor oil. This engine will have a motor oil capacity of 4.5 US quarts when the filter is included and 4.9 US quarts when it is not. The oil drain plug will have a head size of 17mm and if You are using a torque wrench to remove it You will need to set it to 22 ft-lbs of torque. The capacity is pretty light in this vehicle so the fluids costs to replace it will only be between $20 to $30 if You are doing it on Your own and between $90 and $120 if You take it in to a shop to have them do it.
