Il level dipstick under the car. Instead, they now implement a sensor in the oil pan that tracks oil levels. This sensor is directly connected to the digital modules powering the car. As a result, it can also tell users when an oil change is required via the digital interface. For best results, BMW recommend using the sae 5w-30 fully synthetic motor oil, although semi-synthetic oils and conventional oils are viable. If using a fully synthetic oil, make sure to change it once every 7,500 to 10,000 miles.

The 2006 bmw 530i does not have an oil dipstick, you have to check engine oil levels via the idrive system.
