The orifice tube, also known as the Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is located on the passenger side, in a vertical line near the condensor in front of the radiator under the hood in the engine compartment. It's just a small bit of tubing that's easily pulled off or otherwise compromised, so replacing (especially if it's missing) is recommended. You'll be able to hook a new one up right at the dimple and attach to the frame via the plastic clamps that are located in the area. Sometimes there's a bit of hose insulator that will also need to be placed over the TXV.

The 2006 dodge ram 2500 ac orfice tube is crimped into the liquid line so the whole line had to be replaced. To get to it you have to pull the air filter box the passenger side battery box (which requires you to pull the inner fender lining down a little to unbolt the lower battery box screws.

The orifice tube is located in a junction, in a tube that runs between the condenser and the evaporator
