A 2006 Ford F-150 XLT truck equipped with A5.4L V8 triton engine will have a maximum towing capacity of 7000 pounds. The absolute maximum that was available for any model made this year was 9200 pounds and that would have been for the King Ranch Crew Cab models. Given that You have a capacity of 7k You should have no problem with large work loads or even pulling a larger size 5th wheel trailer if You want to go on some adventures. The Ford F Series is the top of the pack when it comes to towing so for this year of the vehicle this was the best choice out there.
