The 2006 Ford F-150 with the 5.4 Triton engine runs best with a synthetic blend of 5W-20, and needs about 7 quarts of it. A good brand to use is Motorcraft's Syn Blend 5-20 Pen Plat. You should change the oil every 7,000 miles if You're using the recommended synthetic, or every 3k miles if going with a conventional. If You're changing Your filter as well, which You should, You'll want to get the Ford sanctioned Motorcraft part number FL-820-S for that. Changing out the filter uses the standard oil drain plug size of 16mm or 5/8 inches; please recycle Your oil properly and don't just dump it in the garbage!
