The 2006 Ford F-150 body control module(BCM) is located against the firewall in the engine bay on the passenger side. In a truck the BCM controls the power windows, power mirrors, air conditioning, immobilizer system, central locking, etc. The BCM communicates with other onboard computers via the car's vehicle bus, and its main application is controlling load drivers. The actuating relays that in turn perform actions in the vehicle such as locking the doors or dimming the interior lighting.Water, vibration, heat, and age can all contribute to a module failing. Make sure it stays clean and dry, and protect it from unwanted shaking or excessive heat if at all possible.
