The 2006 Ford Taurus is going to need to run on green 50/50 antifreeze coolant. Ford makes it's own version of this through their Motorcraft brand. It's recommended by Ford and by the owners of this vehicle themselves that You should go ahead and use the Motorcraft to get the best performance out of Your vehicle. The total capacity will vary depending on which type of engine You have. If You have the standard engine Your capacity is going to be around 9 US quarts while the upgraded 3.0L V6 models are going to have a capacity that is just under 12 US quarts.
