The 2006 Honda CR-V key fob uses a CR1616 battery. This is a flat and circular silver-colored battery which clips into the fob. To replace it, You will have to take the key fob apart, prop out the old battery and install a new one. It is important to always keep Your key fob battery fresh, as it could die when we least expect, and leave us ill prepared for it. So not only should You keep it fresh, keep a spare one in the car. The battery usually costs anywhere from $1 to $5, depending on where we purchase it. While it is good to have a spare, also keep in mind that holding onto a spare one for years might result in it dying.
