You can find the 2006 Honda Element fuel filter on the fuel pump assembly within the gas tank. As it is rated to last the life of the SUV, the manufacturer haS-Classified this component as a non-serviceable item. The fuel pump will also be removed most of the time when You replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter should have no problems if You use the correct octane rating of unleaded gas, but problems that arise from low quality gas can occur. The cost of a filter for replacement fuel varies from $15 to $25 and can be bought at most auto parts stores. It will cost a lot more to take it to a mechanic because it is strenuous work and the repair will range from $300 to $500, including parts.

You do not have to “drop” the fuel tank to replace the pump in a Honda Element. There is a access panel behind the drivers seat.....

The fuel filter is located in the gas tank. You will need to remove the gas tank from the car to get to it.
