Generally speaking, the 2006 Nissan Frontier, which houses a 2.5L 4Cylinder engine, can hold up to 11 quarts of transmission fluid. If Youre performing an oil change, it has a drain plug mechanism that will remove the oil needed. This will only remove 5 quarts, so in case of a replacement, the 2006 Frontier will only require 5 quarts of transmission fluid. If Youre completely replacing the entirety of the transmission system, Youll need 10.5 to 11 quarts of transmission fluid. For best results, its recommended to use a fully synthetic automatic transmission fluid made by a reputable manufacturer, such as Transmax or Castrol.
