The 2006 Nissan Maxima starter relay can be found underneath the hood on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It is in a box labeled "Intelligent Power Distribution Module Engine Room" which is a fancy way of saying the Fuse panel. You can check out the diagram on the inside of the panel box to see where it is located or You can check in the owners manual. Always make sure to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery before removing the relay. You will need a small flat head screwdriver or a fuse removal tool to get the relay out of its position. The cost for a replacement starter relay will range from $20 - $40 depending on if its an aftermarket or OEM product.
