The 2006 Nissan Murano coolant temperature sensor is located directly behind the coolant pipe. In most modern cars and vehicles, this is present behind the right cylinder head that is located right underneath of the air intake pipe. The importance of the coolant temp sensor cannot be understated. A coolant temperature sensor (CTS) (also known as an ECT sensor or ECTS (engine coolant temperature sensor) is used to measure the temperature of the coolant/antifreeze mix in the cooling system, giving an indication of how much heat the engine is giving off.If it ever needs to be replaced the average cost for engine coolant temperature sensor replacement is between $120 and $160. Labor costs are estimated between $80 and $100 while parts are priced between $40 and $50.
