The purge valve on a 2007 Chevy Cobalt is located on the top of the EVAP canister that is located next to the fuel tank. This is also right above and to the right of the rear muffler on the exhaust if You are looking for it. The EVAP purge valve has the job of releasing pressure from Your fuel system when it gets too high. Excessive pressure in the lines from the vapors can cause Your engine to not function well. Usually if You have a problem with an EVAP purge valve You will get a check engine light in Your car because it will detect a problem with the EVAP system. You usually will also notice that Your engine is not running as well as it should.
