For optimal performance, Chrysler recommends using the sae 5w-30 viscosity full synthetic motor oil, as it provides a ton of efficiency, protection and longevity to the engine. That being said, both semi synthetic or conventional oils are perfectly viable options. When compared to full synthetic oils, however, they require much more frequent changing and offer less to the engine and vehicle overall. If using a full synthetic oil, its best to change the oil once every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. If using a conventional oil, the changes will have to be done every 5,000 miles on average. Semi-synthetic oils can last about 7,000 to 8,000 miles before needing to be replaced.
