The 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser uses a power steering pump to circulate lubricants in and around steering gears so the wheels with move with ease. It's important to never let fluid levels drop to prevent damage to the pump and the steering hydraulics. The Cruiser's pump is lubricated by Dexron IiATF. Dexron II is recommended by Toyota and features the required viscosity. You should be able to find the PS reservoir on the passenger side of the engine bay next to the coolant reservoir. The tall cylindrical plastic container is marked by symbols identifying it on a black cap. If the Cruiser's PS assembly needs attention You will notice whining or high pitched noises when turning the wheel.
