The 2008 Cadillac DTS purge valve is located on a vacuum line above the evap canister. The valve is a part of the emissions system along with the evap canister. The canister holds activated charcoal that cleans and traps fuel and other car emissions. The cleaned emissions are then removed through the purge valve.
