The 2008 Chevy Aveo water pump will be located behind the timing chain cover on the engine. The water pump or "coolant pump" is used for the engine to circulate coolant through the engine system to keep everything coolant and not overheat. If the water pump fails it will not circulate the coolant and it sits on the engine block and heat up causing the engine to overheat. Some of the symptoms of the water pump are coolant leak at front-center of the engine, water pump pulley is loose and has a whingin sound, and engine overheating. The cost for a new water pump will range from $50 to $150 depending on the brand and quality. If You take it to the dealership or the auto service shop the costs will range from $350 to $450 including parts and labor.
