The 2008 Chevy Cobalt EGR valve can be found on the valve cover assembly. The valve will have lines running from the exhaust into Your intake. The EGR valve in Your car is an emissions control device. It is used to take excessive exhaust gasses and re-route them back through the engine to be burned off again before they are expelled out of the exhaust piping. This helps reduce the total amount of carbon emissions from Your car. If Your EGR valve is failing usually You will get a check engine light to let You know. You may also notice that Your engine runs rough and that is because it is not getting the right air to fuELRatio.
