If Your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado's engine and trim is one with an EGR valve, it'll be located in the engine towards the back, on the intake manifold. And yes, I said, if Your vehicle is one with it; there are many years, sometimes between trim levels for the same model, that GM didn't even have one. It depends on whether emission requirements mandate it, otherwise, You may just have a factory block off plate. If You do have one on Your intake and it's gone bad, You can often purchase a replacement from a local parts store, such as Autozone, and expect to pay around $200 for the part new.
