The 2008 Chevrolet Suburban has the fuel filter located inside of the gas tank itself, as part of the fuel pump. GM started doing this starting in 2005, replacing the typical old style fuel filter with an intake filter there. To replace this, You'll need to replace the whole fuel pump, which naturally is going to require dropping the gas tank. Reasons You might want to suspect that the fuel pump is starting to fail is if You experience complete engine stalls, such as when stopping at a red light, or if You hear Your engine mIS Firing. Sometimes Your Suburban won't even start, but then after a couple tries, will catch; these are all indicative that Your issue lies with the pump.
