The 2008 Ford F 350 6.4 TCM location is inside the transmission at the rear of the case underneath the end cover. What is the Importance of the Transmission Control Module Since Your TCM controls the transmission and communicates with the main vehicle computer, it offers a vital link between Your car transmission system and the engine. It's crucial to the drivability of any road-going vehicle.Problems with Your transmission control module can result in not being able to shift properly which can cause accidents and injury. On top of that, driving with a faulty transmission control module can cause lasting damage to the wiring in Your transmission.

I don't know of why everyone says it's inside the transmission. WRONG. The module is on the drivers side frame rail near the transmission. The 5R110W transmission has ZERO modules inside it. The only electronics located inside it are the solenoids on the valve body and the TFT sensor.
