The 2008 GMC Canyon cabin air filter is located under the hood under the window cowl. The role of a cabin air filter is to prevent dust, pollen and other pollutants from entering Your car through the air conditioning and air vents. It is recommended that You change the cabin air filter every 12,000 miles or at least once a year every time a vehicle goes in for its service. If You don't change Your cabin air filter, the filter will become more clogged with dirt and debris and the efficiency of the filter and Your car's HVAC system will be compromised. The air volume into Your passenger compartment will be continually reduced which will lead to the issue of foul odors inside Your car.
