The 2008 Nissan Pathfinder heater control valve is located on the inlet or the outlet port. This valve is in charge of making sure the coolant is allowed through when it needs to be and is blocked when it does not need to be. If it is not working correctly then You run the risk of overheating or flooding the coolant line, depending on if it is open or shut. Failures in the system can come from a bad valve, but if You have a leak in the coolant line or a bad thermostat then You will end up with the same issues. For this reason, if You start to overheat You need to turn the car off immediately and take it to a ship.
