The 2008 Scion tC has a 2.4 L 4Cylinder engine that needs 0W-20 Synthetic Motor Oil in all temperatures. The capacity for the vehicle iS4 quarts with a filter and the torque for the drain plug iS30 ft/lbs. Synthetic oil is man made and uses chemical compounds and contains fewer contaminants than conventional, thus needing to be changed less frequent than conventional. Oil is very important because it will help to keep the engine clean and running. It doesn't last forever though so needs to be changed every once in a while. For the tC, You should change the oil and the oil filter every 5,000 miles or so. The cost of an oil change is anywhere from $20 to $30 in labor costs.
