The fuel filter in a 2009 Honda CR-V is located in the top of the fuel tank with the fuel sending unit. You will be able to access this part by going under the back seats in Your SUV and it is under a round plastic cover in the top of the tank. The fuel filter has the job of cleaning the fuel before it enters Your fuel lines and rails. This is important because any debris can clog the lines, or damage Your engine if they make it through the injectors. If You notice that You have lower than average fuel pressure then You will want to check the filter. As the filter gets clogged with debris it can let less fuel into the lines, thus resulting in less pressure.

The 2009 honda crv fuel filter is mounted in the fuel tank along with the fuel pump and the intention is that the filter is supposed to last the life of the pump itself.

Mechanic who serviced my CRV told me the filter is inside the fuel tank and he can't replace it.. WHAT HOGWASH!! A fuel filter MUST be replaced as you say to prevent damage to the engine. Following your instructions, I found where it is situation. THANK YOU!!!
