The 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe uses full synthetic PSF-4 power steering fluid that is designed for Asian vehicles. It is important that You use thiS-TYPE of fluid because it is what is designed to work with the steering rack in Your car. I recommend that You check Your power steering fluid every time that You change the oil in Your car. You will want to make sure that it is still full and that there is not debris in it at all. If You notice that it is low I suggest checking all the lines and fittings to make sure there are not any leaks that are obvious. It can leak from the actual steering boxBut that is a more complex component to repair.
I have a 2003 Hyundai Santa fe. What is the correct type of power steering fluid. I just replaced the power steering pump 2 weeks ago.
