The 2009 VW CC uses SAE 0W-40 oil. Volkswagen recommends that You use synthetic oil whenever You need to change it in Your car. There are two main types of oil on the market these days, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is a newer type of oil that is engineered to give You better wear protection and longer life than the standard petroleum-based conventional option. This means that You will only need to change Your oil every 7,500 miles with synthetic compared to 3,500 to 5,000 miles with conventional. You should make an effort to check Your oil at least once a month. During this check You should make sure that it is full and free from any signs of debris or damage.
