The water pump on the 2010 Chevy Cobalt is located under the timing belt cover on the side of the engine under the hood. Your car's water pump takes water from the radiator and moves it through the motor back to the radiator, where the cycle begins again. It makes sure Your motor remains at a constant temperature, no matter the weather. The water from the radiator heats up as it makes its way through the motor. The water pump is comprised of multiple gaskets and seals that keep coolant contained and ensure that consistent flow of coolant is delivered from the radiator to the engine. Eventually, these gaskets and seals will wear out, dry up, crack or break entirely.
